South Sikkim Tour Package is a six-day, five-night sightseeing holiday through Namchi, the Temi tea-growing slopes, Ravangla and Borong. Beginning with pickup at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, the journey explores a side of Sikkim shaped by pilgrimage landmarks, Buddhist monasteries, tea gardens, forested hills and small settlements. The travel is by private tourist vehicle, with short walks at selected attractions.
The route is planned around two nights in Namchi, two nights in Ravangla and one night in Borong. Namchi offers the monumental Guru Padmasambhava statue at Samdruptse, Siddheshwar Dham (Char Dham) and the remarkable ridge at Tarey Bhir. Between Namchi and Ravangla, Temi Tea Garden brings a different landscape, with orderly tea bushes across the slopes. Ravangla is home to Buddha Park and offers convenient access to local monasteries and gentle countryside walks.
The final overnight stay is in Borong, where village scenery and the forested hills create a quieter ending to the holiday. Travellers interested in the natural hot springs may request an escorted walking visit if the approach is safe and accessible. Maenam Hill can also be arranged separately for fit hikers, but its summit requires a demanding uphill trek and is not part of the standard vehicle sightseeing itinerary.
This tour suits travellers who want to spend meaningful time at each destination instead of rushing through South Sikkim in a single day. The places of worship welcome respectful visitors, while the tea estate, ridge viewpoint and village stops reveal different aspects of life in the region. Driving times and individual stops may change because of weather, road conditions and operating hours.
South Sikkim Tour Price
The indicative starting price is ₹26,999 per adult, calculated for two adults travelling together, sharing accommodation and using a private tourist vehicle. This is a reference rate rather than a fixed supplier quotation. The final price can vary by season, group size, accommodation category, vehicle, meal plan and requested extras. Larger groups may qualify for a lower per-person price. The inclusions and exclusions below explain the proposed package scope, while any changes are confirmed for the chosen dates.
Walking and Practical Information
Most attractions can be visited with road transfers and short walks. Tarey Bhir has exposed cliffside sections and is unsuitable for anyone uncomfortable near steep drops. Buddha Park and monastery visits involve paths or steps. Reaching the Borong hot springs requires a separate downhill walk, while Maenam Top involves several hours of uphill hiking and should not be confused with a roadside viewpoint. Ordinary Namchi and Ravangla sightseeing does not require the special high-altitude border permits used on North or East Sikkim routes; foreign travellers should ensure their general Sikkim entry authorization is valid.
