East Sikkim Tour Package

7 Days

East Sikkim Tour Package is a seven-day, six-night sightseeing journey from Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station through Gangtok, Aritar and the Old Silk Route. Along the way, the landscape changes from river valleys and wooded hills to the exposed highlands around Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, Zuluk and Nathang Valley. This is a tourist-vehicle holiday with short walks at individual attractions, not a trekking expedition.

The trip begins with two nights in Gangtok, followed by a quieter night in Aritar and a night in Zuluk. From Zuluk, the route climbs towards the winding bends below Thambi Viewpoint and continues through the Nathang and Kupup sector before returning to Gangtok, provided the approved road is open. A further day is reserved for Gangtok’s monasteries and cultural sites, with departure on the seventh day. All six nights are spent at lower elevations than the highest mountain viewpoints; there is no overnight stay in Nathang Valley.

Each place has a different character. Tsomgo Lake is sacred to local communities and changes appearance with the seasons. Nathula is a closely regulated border pass. Aritar offers a gentler pace around Lampokhari Lake, while Zuluk’s steep road bends reveal the geography of the former trade route between Sikkim and Tibet. The later Gangtok sightseeing day gives visitors time to appreciate the region’s Buddhist traditions beyond roadside photography.

The full itinerary is designed for Indian travellers eligible for the protected-border sightseeing permits. Nathula and the Zuluk–Nathang–Kupup section cannot be promised without valid authorization and current access approval. Foreign visitors should request a separately designed route to destinations they are permitted to visit.

East Sikkim Tour Price

For two guests sharing rooms and a privately hired sightseeing vehicle, the indicative starting rate is ₹34,999 per adult. The estimate covers six nights’ accommodation, agreed meals, Bagdogra/NJP arrival and departure transfers, and scheduled sightseeing. The actual price can change with season, number of guests, accommodation standard, vehicle selection and requested add-ons. Larger groups may qualify for lower per-person quotations. The exact scope, any required permits and additional charges are confirmed for the chosen dates before travel.

Planning the Mountain Excursions

The Tsomgo–Nathula and upper Silk Route drives rise quickly into cold, thin air. The itinerary avoids an overnight stay at Nathang, but visitors should still discuss relevant health conditions with a doctor before choosing high-altitude sightseeing. The road to Nathula has special visiting-day and entry restrictions; the tour schedule may be reordered around the approved date. There are no guarantees of snow, clear mountain views, admission to restricted sites or an uninterrupted upper-route crossing. Current access and permit eligibility must be checked before a departure is confirmed.

Tour Overview

See the different sides of East Sikkim in seven days: Gangtok’s monasteries and city life, the sacred surroundings of Tsomgo Lake, the protected Nathula mountain road, Aritar’s village scenery and the winding Old Silk Route through Zuluk, Thambi Viewpoint, Nathang and Kupup.

The holiday includes pickup and drop-off at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. Overnight stays are arranged in Gangtok (four nights), Aritar (one night) and Zuluk (one night). The higher Nathang sector is visited during the day rather than used as an overnight base.

The route is intended for Indian travellers eligible for the restricted-border permits. Access to Nathula and the upper Silk Route is subject to approvals and road conditions. The listed starting price is an indicative two-person private-tour rate; group size, seasonal rates and optional services can change the final quotation.
