North Sikkim Tour Package is a six-day, five-night journey from Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station through Gangtok, Lachen and Lachung. This private tourist-vehicle holiday is designed around the contrast that makes northern Sikkim exceptional: river valleys and wooded hills on the approach, compact mountain villages higher up, then the open and often wind-swept landscapes around Gurudongmar Lake and Yumthang.
You spend two nights in Gangtok, one night in Lachen and two nights in Lachung. From Lachen, eligible Indian travellers can make an early excursion towards Gurudongmar Lake through Thangu, subject to permits, road clearance and fitness for very high altitude. Lachung provides a more relaxed base for exploring Yumthang Valley, with the Zero Point extension planned when permission and road conditions allow. The extra night in Lachung means guests do not need to squeeze the valley excursion and the long return to Gangtok into one day.
Road transfers, accommodation and scheduled sightseeing are coordinated as one holiday, including arrival pickup and departure drop-off at NJP or Bagdogra. Guests travel between attractions by tourist vehicle, with short walks at selected stops. The package is intended for Indian nationals eligible for the Gurudongmar sector. Foreign visitors can ask for a separately planned route to destinations allowed by their permits, without the Gurudongmar excursion.
Tour route and overnight stays
Day 1: Bagdogra or NJP to Gangtok. Day 2: Gangtok to Lachen. Day 3: Gurudongmar excursion, then Lachen to Lachung. Day 4: Yumthang Valley and Zero Point, subject to permission and access, then back to Lachung. Day 5: Lachung to Gangtok. Day 6: Gangtok to Bagdogra or NJP.
High-altitude travel and current road access
Gurudongmar Lake lies at approximately 5,430 metres. The rapid climb from Lachen to the lake creates a real risk of altitude illness, including for otherwise healthy travellers. One night in Lachen does not guarantee acclimatization. Anyone with medical concerns should consult a clinician experienced in high-altitude travel before booking. Do not continue ascending if symptoms of altitude illness develop; the guide or driver may require you to turn back. The journey may also be shortened or rerouted because of weather, checkpoint rules, road works, or permit decisions.
Tour price: Indicative private-tour rate of ₹42,999 per adult for two adults sharing a room and travelling together. This is a planning estimate, not a confirmed operator quotation. The actual price depends on departure dates, group size, hotel category, vehicle availability and any changes to permitted sightseeing. Final services and total charges must be confirmed in writing before booking.

Overview
Travel from Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri to North Sikkim on a six-day route with five overnight stays. The tour starts and finishes with your arrival and departure transfers, so your journey from the plains is coordinated with the mountain circuit.
After a night in Gangtok, continue through the Teesta valley towards Lachen. For eligible Indian travellers, the next morning brings an early journey via Thangu towards Gurudongmar Lake at approximately 5,430 metres, followed by a transfer to Lachung. Two nights in Lachung allow a dedicated excursion to Yumthang Valley and, if permitted and safely accessible, Zero Point before returning to Gangtok.
This is a private tourist-vehicle sightseeing package with some walking at stops, not a trekking expedition. Travel at very high altitude involves genuine risks and there are no guarantees of lake access, snow, clear views or open roads. The displayed per-person price is an indicative two-adult estimate; confirm the final quotation and eligibility before travelling.
