Gangtok Pelling Darjeeling Tour brings together three distinct Himalayan hill destinations in one eight-day holiday. Begin in Gangtok, Sikkim’s lively capital, before travelling across the southern hills to Pelling, where monasteries and the ruins of an old royal capital tell another side of Sikkim’s story. The journey finishes in Darjeeling, known for its tea-growing landscape, mountain railway and viewpoints towards Kanchenjunga.
This eight-day, seven-night tour includes three nights in Gangtok, two in Pelling and two in Darjeeling. Pickup and drop-off at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station are part of the planned private tourist-vehicle package. You change accommodation only twice and have a dedicated sightseeing day in each of the three main destinations.
The tour balances scenic drives with historical and cultural attractions. Around Gangtok, visit Tsomgo Lake and the Baba Harbhajan Singh memorial on a permitted mountain excursion, with Nathula Pass available only as an extra, subject to eligibility and road access. Pelling includes the Chenrezig Statue and Skywalk, Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins and nearby Sidkeong Tulku Bird Park. Darjeeling introduces Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and tea-garden views.
This is a vehicle sightseeing holiday, not a trekking expedition. Some places require walking on paths or steps, particularly Rabdentse Ruins. The tour can suit families and couples who prefer a substantial itinerary without changing hotels every night. Attraction access, monastery visits, optional activities and mountain views depend on operating hours, weather, road conditions and applicable permits.
Tour Price and Accommodation
The indicative starting price is ₹44,999 per adult for two adults travelling together by private tourist vehicle and sharing a room. This reference estimate includes seven nights in standard-category accommodation, breakfast and dinner, the agreed road transfers and scheduled sightseeing. The final price may vary with travel dates, room category, vehicle availability, group size and optional services. Families and larger groups may receive a different per-person quotation. Nathula Pass, the Darjeeling toy-train ride and paid entry tickets are not automatically included.
Route and Essential Travel Information
The route follows Bagdogra/NJP → Gangtok (3 nights) → Pelling (2 nights) → Darjeeling (2 nights) → Bagdogra/NJP. Travel between destinations takes several hours on mountain roads, with occasional longer delays during road repairs or heavy rain. The Tsomgo and Baba Mandir excursion requires current protected-area permissions; Nathula is an optional restricted-border visit for eligible Indian nationals only. Foreign travellers may request the appropriate Tsomgo Lake arrangements without Nathula. For help choosing dates, read our Best Time to Visit Sikkim guide.
